JOSHUA K. LINDEN

THE SOUND OF WATER

A PSYCHOLOGY OF THE SOUL

Reconnecting to the Source…

After a lifetime of living in philosophical silence, Joshua K. Linden heard the sound of water in a whole new way. The mesmerizing, meditative sound resonated so deeply within his Soul that it propelled him on a seven-year journey of reflection: on Soul, ego, and our place within the web of life.

Beautifully designed, The Sound of Water offers a series of thoughts and meditations that will guide you in your own journey to reconnect with the Source. You are invited to read it from beginning to end, or flip to a page at random to find deep insight and wisdom, inspiring you to awaken to living a life that deeply honors and values the Soul.

Praise:
“Although the author states that the writing is loosely based on Christian theology and will engage those of other belief systems, the beliefs are mostly Christian, both traditional Christianity and Gnosticism. Beautifully written in a poetic manner, the depth of the content is also seen through philosophy and psychology, as the focus is on the essence of the Soul, when Soul is defined as psyche.” –reviewed for US REVIEWS by Carol Anderson, D.Min., ACSW, LMSW

“His primary sentiment, however, is that people should be present without judgment and without resistance—one that’s also espoused by Eckhart Tolle (author of the 1997 spiritual self-help guide The Power of Now) and fellow author Esther Hicks. Ultimately, his book gets across the message that reality is the experience of ‘living life awake.’ Although Linden’s text sometimes echoes the teachings of the aforementioned Tolle, its message organically arises from the author’s personal experience and process—a clear, simple approach to life that uses straightforward language throughout. However, it’s not a quick, easy read; instead, its weighty statements invite readers to pause and ponder, and ideally, to be present. A collection of well-written, perceptive, and quietly powerful essays, meant to be savored.” –Kirkus Reviews

“Exceptionally well written, organized and presented, The Sound of Water: A Psychology of the Soul is as thoughtful and thought-provoking as it is inspired and inspiring. An ideal and highly recommended addition to community, and academic reference Mediation Studies reference collections and supplemental reading lists, The Sound of Water: A Psychology of the Soul is thoroughly ‘reader friendly’ from beginning to end and enthusiastically recommended to the non-specialist general reader.” –Midwest Book Review

“This book is a pleasant exploration of what it means to be human, and an equally pleasant explanation of what it means to be interconnected to one another.” —Portland Book Review

The Sound of Water is a thought-provoking collection of ponderings and meditations that inspire examination of one’s life and reconnection with the Source—God, the Universal energy and essence of life.

A series of compelling and peacefully alluring contemplations on our ability and need to reconnect with the Source.” —San Francisco Book Review
